On the occasion of art fair PRO ART ’71, gallerist Ingo Kümmel invites Ingeborg Lüscher to realize a sculpture and destroying it during a public fire performance. Dressed in the protective clothing of firefighters, Ingeborg Lüscher places a polystyrene column in front of the Duisburg Mercator Hall. She inflames the column, burns it down and extinguishes the fire. The process is accomapgnied by music of Karlheinz Stockhausen.
