Concept

A screen, mounted on an iron framework, is placed on a stage

in the public space of Duisburg.

The following film and photo sequences are projected on the screen:

1968

The bombing of North Vietnam by the American Air Force

The self-burning of a South Vietnamese man

1968

The Russian invasion in Prague

The self-burning of the Czech Jan Pallach

Film stills of both self burnings are projected on the right and the

left parts of the screen. Photos of the viewers of the performance

are projected in between. The screen is sprayed with petrol and

burned. The performance is accompagnied by realistic sounds of

war and/or electronic music.
